I bought the 9.6V unit 3 years ago. Then there was a recall on the battery. I sent the battery back and after more than a month of waiting to get the replacement I called Electrolux. They said they would send me a new unit. I got the replacement unit and to my surprise it was a newer vac. I charged it up and started to use it and to my surprise I found that this unit really did a great job on the wooden kitchen floor and on the low pile throw rugs. I wondered what the difference was and the unit they sent was with a 12V battery which makes all the difference in the world. I am really happy with this unit and would not recommend the 9.6V unit as I think it’s a toy next to the 12V unit. The extra money is worth it.
Very easy to do and not a great deal of pressure needed. For a vaccum, this one is slim and elegant enough that if you had to store it somewhere where it would be seen it wouldn’t be obtrusive. Would I replace my regular vacuum with this? NO! This is after all a glorified dust buster. It is not meant to take the place of a regular vacuum, but for quick pick ups in between regular vaccumings, I would rate this A+++. All in all, this is a great little stick vac that is efficient and easy for even the non-technophiles to put together and use. I would recommend it to my friends and family, and in fact have.
After a lot of research to find a vacuum that picks up dog hair from hardwood floors I decided on this one. I used it today for the first time and was amazed at how great it worked, not a dog hair to be seen! I suffer from allergies and could never find a vacuum that TRULY picked up the dog hair from my three dogs. It also works great for dust, we live in the country and the dust is terrible! All of the uprights I tried only moved the hair and dust around as do a dustmop or a broom. It was basically ready to use straight from the box which is a big plus for me. If you are looking for a vac to pick up dog hair and dust from hard surfaces this is the one to buy! I think I’m going to like sweeping from now on:)
I bought this one for my mother since she has two small dogs and likes to keep a clean house. I knew she would love it because I have had one for over a year and it hasn’t disappointed me one bit. The weighted charging base is another feature I love about the sweeper. Once your done you just set it down in the charger and it starts charging, you don’t have to fiddle with plugs. This thing is a perfect must have for hard surface floors especially if you have pets. I use mine daily to sweep up dog hair and whatever else happens to settle on my floors. The battery charge is starting to get about five minutes shorter these days, but I think that a year and a half is a pretty good run for most rechargeable devices like this one.
We love it. It was very easy to set up and is a delight to use as compared to dragging out the big vac all the time. We have two large dogs and find the suction sufficient to pick up the dirt and hair.
