Good 'ol popper. I've had one of these for more than 10 years and am ordering a new one because the yellow plastic air guide has just disintegrated from age and heating. Awesome. Ok, it's not the prettiest design out there but it works wonderfully, my dad has the same model and his has been working for the past (I think) 30 years. Love it!!! This takes longer than I expected to pop the popcorn, and I have knocked the hood off more than once, but it does the job and fills the house with the great smell of popcorn. It doesn't go above and beyond, but if you follow the directions this popper does exactly what it's intended to do: pop a half-cup of kernels quickly with no oil and leave very few unpopped kernels. I've read a few reviews with complaints about popcorn going everywhere & here's what I've found 1) use a big bowl, I use a mixing bowl because it has high sides & the popped corn can't bounce out, 2) unplug it when there are still a few kernels left & it's really not an issue - things start flying when the weight of the popcorn is so little that the fan pushes it around.
