A way to mop the kitchen without getting on my hands and knees! I have a 24 x 15 White floor in my kitchen and 2 small children. It always needs mopping and it used to be my least favorite chore…until I got this. Thank you Bissel. I’ve been struggling with a 5-year old linoleum floor in my dad’s house – to get it looking clean and sanitary has been impossible without getting down and dirty…until today. I bought myself one of these mops out of curiousity and after the first swipe, I knew I had a winner! I couldn’t believe the dirt that this steam mop lifted out of the tiny grooves of the linoleum pattern (which was what was making the floor look dirty) – and in no time at all, I managed to get that floor cleaner than it’s been since installation. I HIGHLY recommend this product for a fun and simple way of mopping. I do agree with other reviewers who advise to buy extra pads – I found that the more I lifted dirt and the wetter the steam got the pad, the more likely I was to leave streaks on each stroke. I resolved the problem by switching out pads when that started happening. End of cleaning – tossed in the washer and dryer and we’re good to go in a couple of days. One of the best gadgets I’ve rewarded myself with in a long time.
I have been using my Bissell mop for over 2 years now to clean my laminate and marble floors. I love the fact that it sterilizes and also that there are no fumes from cleaning liquids. Other cleaning products would leave behind a film on my laminate floors, but the steam mop leaves them perfectly clean and shiny. I would highly recommend this mop.
The Bissell Steam Mop is Great! It does exactly what it says it will do. It maneuvers easily with the swivel head. Minor improvements would be an elasticized bonnet, and a longer retractable cord. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
This is great. I had 12 paws now 8 paws, and 6 feet bringing in debris from outside in the kitchen area. I am using this machine several times a week and slowly the dirt embedded in the linoleum over 5 years is steaming out. Wonderful.
I recieved my steam mop on a Friday night, and started using it right away. It was a breeze to put together, and with a full tank of water, it wasn’t the least bit heavy (it barely seems like the 10lbs the description says) . With the full tank of water I did a 10×10 bedroom, a 25′ long hallway, and a 10×4 front entrance (I also quickly went over the 2 baths). I’ll admit, the floor was pretty clean already (I had mopped a week prior), but I sure did pick up a lot of dirt, and was surprised that floor looked cleaner than after I had mopped that last time. The pad was pretty hot when I was done, but after reading other reviews, I expected this. I loosened the string in the back and then pulled the mop head off with my shoe. After that it cooled off very quickly, and I tossed it down the laundry chute. This all went very fast, and between assembly and mopping until the tank was empty, it took less than 45 minutes I’d guess. I refilled the tank, and I went into the basement, which had not been mopped, and used the other pad down there.
