I was looking for a steam generating iron to go the distance when ironing a variety clothes/fabric types and this does it. The large reservoir is key, as some regular irons are great but run out of water too quickly. The iron itself is quite light. I still keep my Rowenta on hand for quick jobs, but when it comes to needing to iron through a pile of clothes, this DeLonghi does the trick. I can get the crisp and starched look and feel without picking up a can of the stuff.

This was a $140.00 iron and a huge contraption at that. I decided to give it a try as I had no alternative that I could find that I might consider. Well let me tell you, I am GLAD I did! This is THE hottest 1500W iron that I have ever used. It’s THE hottest iron that I have ever used period! The design of these type irons really is a huge improvement over “self-contained” irons. If you like steam, you’ll be thrilled to death with this iron. This thing puts out steam like an old locomotive! It’s consistent too! The reservoir holds a lot of water. This iron works great with starch if you like that like I do or steam like my wife likes. This iron appears to be well made also, not some junky item from China. Of all of the cons that I’ve read about it such as no water gauge, these are so minor that I don’t even notice them. I just check the water each time before I use it. There are no other negatives about it that I can really think of. The entire unit is a little heavy that’s all, but the positive to the weight is that it stays in place while you’re ironing. I would not hesitate one bit to purchase this iron, it is fantastic in all respects to me and personally I think it’s cheap for what you get. I hope this helps anyone that may be considering it. Cheers.
After one Euro Pro and 3 Rowenta steamers over the past 15 years, I am a happy owner of the DeLonghi. The design, the ease of use and the effectiveness of this equipment is a true joy. My thanks to the designers who developed a smaller iron head which fits into tight spaces, a good capacity water tank and easier handling for the consumer.
When I first got the iron I was not as happy with it as I I had been with my Rowenta, I have had 2 of those. But very quickly this has become my favorite. I love not having to fill so often there is no jumping or steam escaping when it is ready there is two light to let you know. The switch is much better than the Rowenta and I love the handle. It does take a little longer for the steam to get ready but you save time in the long run because you do not run out of steam as fast. If I ever need another one this is the one I will get.
Only had this for several months but so far very pleased with it. As past reviews mentioned, the cord from the iron to the unit should be longer. Also it is difficult to fill the unit with water since you can’t see how full it is. I always keep a rag to wipe up the water I tend to let spill out. The iron is very comfortable to handle. Does take some waiting for the unit to heat up for the steam but I just go about the house doing other things and come back about 15 to 20 minutes later and it is ready to go. I am one of the strange people that likes to iron and do enjoy this iron. I have always used the Rowenta irons and still pull that out when I need to do something in a rush. The DeLonghi iron does put out more steam, I don’t need to refill it as fast as the Rowenta. I wouldn’t mind having an even larger water capacity on the DeLonghi. If doing lots of ironing I still run out or steam, it just takes longer to reach that point. I would recommend this iron. Just have not had it long enough to see how it holds up.
