FoodSaver V3835 Vacuum Food Sealer with SmartSeal Technology
What people say about FoodSaver V3835 Vacuum Food Sealer with SmartSeal Technology (by Jarden Consumer Solutions):
Works for Me! This is my second Foodsaver and I'm very happy with it. Mine works great. Just wanted to say that mine works great. Tilia please go back to the drawing board. I have owned many foodsavers over the last 15 years. Would not work out of the box. Their was a defect on the inside where the foam was so high that it was next to impossible to actually get a bag in far enough to get it to work. Food Saver. This is the second Food Saver I have owned. V3840 A Step Forward. I have been using a foodsaver product for many years. Good Thing Improved into Junk! We've had 4 foodsavers over the last 10 years. The Worst Model Foodsaver ever. I've owned several Food savers until they wore out. It works just like the manfufacture says!!! it's funny what people complain about. New Design is Poor! I used the original Foodsaver for many years until it finally expired from exhaustion.
What Were They Thinking? Ditto! Consumer Beware. Yes, it will save you counter space besides looking great but what a piece of crap. Works great for me. I owned two of the older clam shell models which were great. Do not bother. Biggest piece of crap I ever bought. Food saver. Great product I use it all the time. Love the concept, product is a little finicky. This is the first Foodsaver I've had or used. This model is not an improvement. My family loves FoodSavers and we use one daily. Hard to use. I Purchased this item at Costco. Great idea, poorly executed. We have used several of the FoodSaver products in the past, and this looked like a good idea. It's a bad idea! This product worked about 6 months worth and about 30 bags worth.
I really wanted to like this FoodSaver but.... I've wanted one of these things for a long time and finally received the model v3835 FoodSaver over Christmas. Great vacuum seal... if you can trigger the sensor that is! Background you can skip:First of all: I have used Foodsaver products for many years and always was a big fan of the top-loading models: never a problem in executing its basic function. Redesigned from previous models, works very poorly. I've used a couple of generations of the Foodsaver and have found them easy to use, efficient and cost effective. Love it! I've never owned an earlier version of FoodSaver, so I can't compare different models. Newest Model. Vacuum seals perfectly and automatically after user inserts bag. Great sealer, but you must follow instructions, as it is easy to use. Some reviewers have complained that you have to fit bags into the slot and occasionally the sensor will not detect a bag is there. What A Piece of Junk THIS Thing Is!!! Get Something Better!!!!!!!!! I've only had this ill-fated machine since October last year. Very "consumer" grade - overpriced. I've had mine for a year now and while it works, it's problematic and I end up regretting buying it by the time I'm done with my vacuum packing. Enormous bag waste. I read the reviews prior to purchasing but bought it anyway for its looks, which match the rest of my kitchen. Food Saver V3835. I like it.
Why Fix Something When It Wasn't Broke to Begin With! My old Foodsaver gave out and this beautiful stainless steel one on the counter at [. A colossal PITA !!! Any woman (or man) in the kitchen does NOT want to spend time sweet talking this machine to get it to work. Upset. First time I tried to use the FoodSaver it would not work properly. From really good to really terrible. FoodSaver V3835 Vacuum Food Sealer with SmartSeal TechnologyWe've been using FoodSaver products since they first appeared on the market, all of them have been fine until now, this thing does a good job on canisters but the bag sealer really stinks! What are these people talking about??? I almost didn't buy this product. Brilliant. The best money I've spent in a while. Redesign Ruins Great Product. I have a small Foodsaver - v2240 - I bought a few years ago and love it! Takes some time to figure it out. I purchased this product around Christmas time. Looks Nice but don't buy it !!! I purchased my FoodSaver from Cosco and it's my first one. Definitely, not what it is cracked up to be! Basically, the FOODSAVER system is sound and well designed EXCEPT for the canisters which often crack.
Just works. The new design for the Foodsaver is a HUGE improvement over previous models. Save food = save money. I got this unit at Costco, includes the marinate dish, 12 - quart size bags and a roll of bag material. Works great for me! To be honest, I almost didn't buy this Food Saver because of the bad reviews. SAVES FOOD. I am overall very satisfied with this machine. I returned mine. I bought my first Tilia FoodSaver in 1999 and my second one -model 1075- in 2002 (an upgrade, nothing wrong with the first one). A horrible "improvement" on previous editions. Completely agree several of the other reviewers. Worth every penny. I've tried other brands and was'nt impressed ! A Giant Step Backwards. This is the fourth or fifth FoodSaver I've owned, and I'm stunned at how poorly this model is designed, and how hard it is to use to seal bags.
