Good and Bad. I like the kettle except for the fact that the chrome on the lid has developed a bubble and so I am not sure that it is real chrome or just an overlay of some kind. Nice concept with a smell of plastic. What a nice idea - a glass kettle, the one you can see through boiling. No smell or taste. Looks great. Works great. I was concerned by the earlier reviews discussing a strange taste and plastic odor of water boiled in this kettle, but I never experienced anything other than colorless, odorless water. Short lifespan. Beautiful kettle. Plastic parts start coming away. I bought this about a year or so ago. Totally Perfect, No Funky Odor. I am a person who lives life keenly through my sense of smell, and I am a little baffled by all the reviews stating that there was a foul chemical stench coming from some people's kettles. Excellent for real people, not for elitists (apparently) After being pushed away for a time by harsh reviews about the "horrible plastic" taste, I wound up buying the Capresso kettle anyway. Beautiful kettle. We love the look of the pot and watching it boil. Problem with smell and auto-start. I recently bought one from World Market and returned it. It's Perfect! Capresso 259. Excellent design, but questionable health risk. This product is smartly designed and boils water in a very short period of time. Super efficient water-heating pot. Heats water in a few seconds. British sensibility, American practicality. Most British homes I have been to have a proper electric water kettle that brings water to a boil quickly and efficiently. Very Pleased So Far With The Capresso. I got this kettle as a gift one month ago and have been using it daily since with no problem at all so far. No significant improvement in awful taste after all these reviews. Unfortunately, like so many other reviewers, I am turned off and very disappointed that Capresso hasn't resolved the problem of the chemical, plastic, whatever is causing the ill-taste of the water after boiling. Great teapot. I recently purchased this teapot after viewing all of the others available on Amazon and reading all of the reviews.

Love this kettle whole-heartedly. I spontaneously bought this kettle in a store, without looking on Amazon first. Good outside, bad inside. The design is very good, but it starts to smell plastic after a couple of usage. Heats fast, offgassing annoying. Have had this for a month now and it works great. Super fast boiling kettle! We've had this kettle for a couple of months now, and we're really happy with it - it's not a big kettle - I actually thought/wish it would be a little bigger, but on the upside it boils water super, super fast - it's a great thing especially in morning rush I would definitely recommend buying this kettle! Water tastes strange. I ignored the negative reviews about this kettle because it looks so good, and some people seemed entirely happy with it. Not such a long lifespan. I am debating buying my third one of these. DOA and smelled. This is a great looking kettle and I bought it because is was the top rated one by Americas Test Kitchen, but ours arrived and would shut off before water came to a boil, plus I couldn't get the smell out of the kettle. Gorgeous and super-functional! This Capresso kettle rocks. My test results--The chemical smell is NOT from inside the kettle. I've been using my kettle for several months. Stopped working. Surprised after reading other reviews that I didn't notice the smell, but then I have alot of allergies and sinus problems so may not have noticed for that reason. Garbage. I bought a Capresso H2O and used it for about 3 days. It's Great. I love that kettle! Pretty and functional, but dangerous. This is an attractive kettle. Looks are deceiving.... Capresso glass water kettle. I am very satisfied with the Amazon service and the product myself. I love this kettle. I read through all the reviews but since I really like the style of this kettle, I decided I would order it and try it myself. Exactly what I wanted. I visited a friend in England and came back wanting an electric tea kettle as nice a hers. Works great and looks good doing it!!! I was glad to find an electric kettle that i could leave setting out on the counter and have it look good - the fact that this things works so well is just icing on the cake! Dangerous. I had mine for about 8 months and then the handle fell off while I was pouring a full kettle of boiling water into a teapot. Great Kettle, super fast and great looking. Looks can be deceiving. I ordered this kettle specifically to avoid heating up water in plastic. Hot, cute, and fast. This kettle gets hot quickly and has been working well for us. I love my capresso tea kettle. Making tea is an important and frequent activity for me. Very happy with this kettle. I was motivated to get an electric kettle after using one at a friend's home. Loved it at first, but it just stopped working. I enjoyed using this kettle very much for about six months. Great product for tea lovers.
